Miley Ray Cyrus was born Destiny Hope Cyrus, was raised by Tish Cyrus, Billy Ray Cyrus, and her brothers and sisters in Thompson's Station in Tennessee. Her siblings include 2 half brothers one half-sister, as well as a younger sibling and brother. Their parents gave their daughter the name Miley, in hopes that she would achieve success. Miley came to be her nickname in childhood. Smiley due to its cheerfulness. Her grandfather, a Democratic political figure, Ron Cyrus, was her paternal grandparent. Cyrus attended Heritage Elementary School, Tennessee. Her family moved out of Tennessee and into Toronto Canada in the year she turned eight years old, and Billy Ray Cyrus took on an appearance in Doc (2001) in which she was the main character on the TV show. Cyrus started acting in the same time. Her first acting role was alongside her dad in Doc (2001). Tim Burton's Big Fish (2003), in which she played an unimportant role as a child, also had a great success. Cyrus played in Hannah Montana (2006) (a Disney show that follows a teenager woman with a dual life as a performer) as the main character. Again her father acted alongside her. The show went down a storm and hits records as well as sell-out shows and deals with merchandising soon followed. Cyrus turned into a teenager-friendly star. Cyrus started to play other roles following her popularity in the film Hannah Montana (2006). These included playing Ronnie Miller (in The Last Song 2010, 2010) as well as Lola (in LOL (2012)), alongside Demi Moor.
